Overall CN strategy?

Didn't quite get it from reading the articles, so what is your perception of Bitcoin? Are you a rival, or yet another alternate coin? How are you positioning yourself with all those advanced crypto algos?

The CryptoNote technology and Bitcoin are not competing platform, but rather technologies supplementing each other.
Bitcoin is the first successful implementation of the p2p electronic cash concept. CryptoNote can be called its heir since it proposes solutions to the main deficiencies of the digital currencies. CryptoNote technology is free of politics and rivalry. It is a purely technological project which serves to enhance the cryptocurrencies ecosystem.

If you're not against Bitcoin, why didn't you put your time and effort to update it instead of reinventing the wheel? I know that it is very hard to make changes to Bitcoin's protocol itself, but your work would make much more sense if it was at least based on the cryptocurrency, which is a standard today. This may lead to the standard's updates, not the brand new solutions.

Bitcoin protocol is not perfect, as it suffers from several deficiencies. It may be a standard today, but digital technology develops exponentially.
Besides, ZeroCoin's initial plan to establish itself on top of the Bitcoin block chain wasn't successful. We did not wish to follow its path.
By the way, I personally believe that having various technological solutions compete has certain positive aspects. In the end, it may be beneficial for the whole digital currencies ecosystem

It’s questionable point about decentralization on the market. Our world is built on vertical line of power since antiquity. In a case of such changes what cultural changes can it cause? May be we’ll have to alter our way of thinking - cult, worship of the power in any form. Do we get closer to the future in peace?
Can we teach our children not only struggling and work but live their own lives with as much pleasure as possible?
I’m a dreamer)
