No Peers / Seed node connections

Postby optikalsaint » Fri Sep 11, 2015 4:21 pm

I recently compiled my own version of the coin for local development purposes. Everything went smoothly until running the daemon. Once it was started up I noticed that none of my peers could connect to the seed nodes or to other peers.

When trying to connect I get the log messages that the handshake was initiated, then it closes, reconnects, and keeps looping back and fourth like that. Typing print_cn in the console and you can see peers connect for a second, then they all drop off. I've tried hosting my seed nodes locally, in a VPS, on AWS, in OpenStack, and on various machines I have laying around for testing. So far though, I can't get any peers/seeds to communicate.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Figured it out guys. Turns out it was an issue with my physical firewall as well as my Ubuntu servers iptables. Apparently I went a little overboard when setting those up
