Setting up the server

Postby ikeman32 » Thu Nov 26, 2015 11:43 am

I am about ready to begin testing my new coin. Do I need to run the daemon on the servers in testing mode or can I run them both in normal mode while I run the daemon on my computer in testing mode?

No, you can't do this. All daemons must run in the same mode, so you should run daemons on server in testing mode too.

Not sure what to make of this:
Code: Select all

It looks like you have changed parameters of your coin after creating genesis block, so it just doesn't fit to the existing parameters.
You have to do it again(step six). You can skip step one now and start right from step 2 - "Start the daemon to print out the genesis block".

Thanks, that did the trick. Nodes up and running in test mode. All seems to be working on my computer.

Scratch that after switching to normal mode on servers and on my computer I get this error when starting walletd

Code: Select all
Fatal error: TcpListener::TcpListener, bind failed, result=98, Address already in use

On the bright side the mining works.

Maybe other copy of walletd is running, so 8070 port is busy, or any other application is using this port. You could try to run walletd with --bind-port=XXX parameter, XXX stands for port number, f e 8071.
