Postby dNote » Mon Jun 02, 2014 10:35 pm

DarkNote is an experimental open-source cryptocurrency based on CryptoNote technology and CryptoNight algorithm. It is a fork of latest Bytecoin open source code - the very first implementation of CryptoNote.

Specifications
Cryptocurrency name: DarkNote
Cryptocurrency ticker: [XDN]
Algorithm: CryptoNight*
Based on: CryptoNote
Total DarkNotes: 8 589 869 056.00000000 - perfect number
One DarkNote is divisible down to 8 decimal places. "Note" used instead of "Coin" to separate DarkNote from other approaches and forks.
Block target time: 4 min - to keep fast transactions, more "valuable" confirmations and small blockchain size.
Scalable cryptocurrency with fast difficulty adjustment. Difficulty is counted every block.
Smart DarckNotes supply for real economy needs with ~80% DarkNotes mined in the first year.
Initial Block reward = 320 000 [XDN]
Block halving interval = 11 000 blocks = approx. 1 month
Minimum Block reward = 150 [XDN]
Default P2P port: 42080
Default RPC port: 42081
DarkNote address starts with "dd" example: ddcuyh24nj7R5ctKpXssAEUn3fe2oKzdSR2sBbUa7CVPV2XDjydupBXJ7ZacSmh2GjChcJvsbdthYj6bBAFHRstF2ejasVaCY

DarkNote smart supply
DarkNote maximum supply is 8589869056.00000000 [XDN]. DarkNote has 320000 [XDN] base block reward, with halving interval = 11 000 blocks, that is approximately 1 month. Also DarkNote has minimum block reward = 150 [XDN]. That value will be reached approximately after one year since first block generation with ~81% of DarkNotes in circulation. DarkNote is still a "deflation" cryptocurrency with no inflation and with 150 [XDN] minimum block reward it will takes approximately 77 years to reach MAX DarkNote value.

To devs of CN, I am seeing more and more CN coins coming out and wondering whether it is a good direction to go on. Especially, there are some coins which are simply and clearly a copycat without any contribution to development of CN.
It might be a controversion step to take. But at least here, in this list board, the devs could discuss and require the team of new coins to describe what idea, innovation or trials the coin bring into the community. More or less, the team of the coin will have to make statement publicly here and therefore help the average member in this community to understand more here in this forum.

If you take a look at the coins that have been submitted recently, you'll notice that each of them proposes something new to CryptoNote being that technology and features, or marketing and community building.

We wouldn't like to dilute CryptoNote's image and will continue to review each and every submitted currency. However, our solid position is coin pluralism. You may read more on that here: https://forum.cryptonote.org/viewtopic. ... t=220#p761
